Biography.

We give our effort, we transmit love and we empty ourselves before something as high as unattainable, MUSIC.

Andrés Salado

We work for those who feel, who are moved and who enjoy themselves. Only in this way… so much sacrifice makes sense.

I feel an indescribable gratitude.

Grateful to life and to so many beautiful people.

Sweating and squeezing every moment that life gives us.

Happy and fortunate to dedicate myself to this demanding and, at the same time, sublime profession.

From the beginning.

Born in Madrid in 1983, I began my musical training studying piano, violin and baroque flute, finally opting to specialise in percussion, which I obtained at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.

Later, attracted by the orchestral sound that I heard in numerous performances, either as a collaborator or as a member of orchestras such as the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España or the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, among others, I began to study orchestral conducting.

I have trained with maestros Miguel Romea, Peter Rundell, Jorma Panula, Sandro Gorli, Peter Gülke, Peter Eötvös and Antoni Ros Marbà.

It was non-stop.

Since then I have conducted many of the main Spanish orchestras, as well as the youth orchestras of Galicia, Seville, Comunidad de Madrid, JONDE and the Orquesta Joven de Extremadura, of which he is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director.

Outside Spain, I have conducted important ensembles: Mexico, Costa Rica, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland.

The world of opera has also duped me – who hasn’t – and I have been able to conduct marvels such as Il barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini, Il segreto di Susanna by E. Wolf-Ferrari, The Telephone by G.C. Menotti and Macbeth by G. Verdi.

Award.

We work for those who feel, who are moved and enjoy themselves. This is the only way… so much sacrifice makes sense.

Winner of the 2016 Princess of Girona Award for Arts and Literature, “For the technical and musical quality of this percussionist and conductor, as well as for his initiatives to bring music to very different audiences and for his international projection”.

Sacrifice, meaning, award… deep gratitude to this profession.

Although they have me looking like this on the website of the Princess of Girona Foundation.

The tenure.

Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orquesta de Extremadura from the 2021/2022 season.

Before that, it came with that of the Orquesta Joven de Extremadura, forever my beloved land of welcome.

And now, facing a new challenge after the very recent appointment in the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica.

And, from the 2025-2026 season, he will be the principal conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès.

Show must go on…

“A musician cannot move others if he does not move himself. It is indispensable that he should feel all the emotions he hopes to arouse in his listeners, because in this way the revelation of his sensitivity will stimulate in others a similar sensitivity”.
